The Civil Court has ordered the Audit Office to release an audit report prepared on Male’ High Pvt Ltd, the company that operates Mandhu College.

The judgment was issued in the absence of the Audit Office, which did not attend the hearings or respond to the lawsuit. As a result, the court proceeded and ruled based on the claims submitted by Male’ High Pvt Ltd.

According to the judgment, the report in question is an assessment the Audit Office had submitted to the Attorney General’s Office regarding losses allegedly incurred by Male’ High Pvt Ltd. The company, owned by former MP Ibrahim Ismail (Ibra), filed the case seeking access to the document.

The ruling was delivered by Civil Court Judge Farhad Rasheed.

The Audit Office had previously stated that the maximum compensation payable to Mandhu College, following the cancellation of its agreement to operate in the former MES building, was MVR 1.5 million. That assessment, which Sun has previously reviewed, was prepared at the request of the Education Ministry to determine the compensation owed to the college.

The court has now ordered the Audit Office to release the audit report to Male’ High Pvt Ltd.
