Power was restored to HDh. Nolhivaranfaru on early Wednesday after an outage that lasted nearly 24 hours.
The power went out in parts of Nolhivaranfaru at around 07:30 am Tuesday.
Fenaka Corporation, which provides utility services in the island, attributed the outage to an issue with the dynamo in one of the gensets, a device that makes direct current electric power using electromagnetism.
Abdulla Nadheem, the president of the Nolhivaranfaru Council, told Sun that power was restored to the affected parts at around 02:30 am Wednesday.
According to Nadheem, Fenaka replaced the damaged dynamo with one taken from another genset to resolve the issue.
Nolhivaranfaru, an island of some 1,200 people, is powered with two generators – an 800 KW one and a 400 KW one.
